Psychology, Psychotherapy & Mindfulness
Supervision, Training & Consultation
in Kingston upon Thames & Online
My name is Karen Partridge, and I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist and Mindfulness Teacher based in Kingston upon Thames and online. Following 40 years of experience in the NHS as a clinical psychologist and systemic psychotherapist, I am committed to helping clients of all backgrounds overcome difficulties, such as depression, anxiety and stress. We will explore these issues using a range of psychological and systemic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness (MBCT), working collaboratively in a quiet, confidential environment where you can speak freely about the issues in your life. I am committed to anti- discriminatory practice and will work alongside you to build a sense of solidarity to resist injustice and discrimination based on appearance, disability, race, culture, sexuality and sexual orientation and other signifiers of difference.
I am also a qualified supervisor, offering supervision, training and consultation to professionals working independently or in heath, social care and voluntary sector settings. Please get in touch to ask any questions you might have.
As a psychologist and systemic therapist, I work alongside you to identify patterns within your relationships with friends, family members, and your wider social and cultural environment. By exploring how you communicate, behave and feel within these systems of relationships we will be able to understand the context in which your difficulties have arisen. This will enable us to open up choices for future action with the aim of reducing and ameliorating the impact that difficulties may have on your daily life.
Visit my Therapy page for a more detailed breakdown of how I work with clients.
Practicing mindfulness can be a very grounding and nurturing experience which can increase your resilience to the ups and downs of life. Practicing mindfulness can enhance the therapeutic approach we use to address problematic issues or it can be the main focus of our work together. Mindfulness practice will develop your ability to be fully present in your life – with your relationships, your family and friends, and in your work context.
Please see my Mindfulness page for further information on how I use Mindfulness with clients.
I have high levels of experience in working with both individuals and groups face-to-face or over Zoom to overcome a range of issues. If you have never experienced therapy before, sessions from the comfort of your own home may allow you to feel more at ease and express yourself more freely. Virtual therapy also allows for greater flexibility with timing, so you are less likely to miss sessions and don’t have to spend time, energy and money travelling to a specific location.
